The Young Leader Award is a six hour award for young people over the age of nine that promotes them working with younger children. The award teaches leadership skills through a range of games and activities, and is a fun and practical way to engage young people in leadership activities.

The award follows the well known STEP principle which encourages Young Leaders to make decisions surrounding the Space, Task, Equipment and organisation of People in order to become successful leaders.

Leaders once they have completed the leadership award will receive a nationally recognised certificate. The course looks to develop skills that can be transferred to many different situations. This can be a first step towards a young leader becoming a leader for the future.
